New 24 Volt DC Gearmotor with Integral Brake

Powerful, Lightweight, Unit provides benefits for battery powered Electric Vehicles, Robotics & Automation Applications

Industrial News Buzz - Midwest Motion Products of Watertown, Minnesota, is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Gear Motor, with Integral Brake, the Model No. MMP-D22-376H-24V GP52-195 BR-005. Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, including battery power, this robust, ENCODER COMPATIBLE DC Gear Motor / Brake measures just 2.25' (max) Diameter, by 9.0' long, and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm diameter by 25mm long. Easy mounting is accomplished with 4 'face mount' M5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 40mm Dia. B.C.

The output of this reversible gearmotor is rated for 215 IN LBS of continuous torque, at 10 RPM, and 443 IN LBS Peak. Despite its compact size, and weight of approximately 4 pounds, it's an efficient design, requiring just 1.7 Amps at 24 Volts DC to generate its Full Load Torque. That translates into long life battery charge, very LOW NOISE operation, and lower cost drive electronics. Motor windings for 12v, 36v, 48v, 60v & 90 Volts are available. This unit features an integral FAILSAFE Brake, capable of 5 In Lbs of holding torque. Also, a rear shaft and mounting holes are provided for the addition of an Optical Encoder, available from Stock with resolutions of 32ppr, 100ppr, 250ppr, 500ppr 1000ppr and 1024ppr. This unique design is rated at an 'IP 54' protection level for operation in harsh environments. Variable Speed can be accomplished with our fully compatible Speed Controls, Model MMP 25A-24V, or MMP 20A-24V-RSP. ^^ Typical options available from the company include Servo Motors with integral Optical Encoders, Failsafe Brakes, Analog Tachometers, and Planetary Gearheads, with standard ratios ranging from 3:1 to 2653:1, and standard or low backlash precision gearing available. Motor Winding Options include 12V, 36V, 48V, 60V and 90 Volts DC.

The company offers a variety of standard ancillary equipment including DC power supplies, DC Servomotors, PWM Servo Amplifiers, Motor Speed Controls, Linear Actuators and a wide variety of DC gear-motors. Custom Motor Shaft and mounting configurations are also available. Typical applications include Battery Operated Motors & E.V. drives, Medical, Mobility / Accessibility products, Robotics & Automation including (Military) Unmanned Guided Vehicles, Semiconductor Processing Equipment, Actuators, Packaging & Labeling Machines, Metalworking Machines, and many other applications requiring precise motion control.
